Business Intelligence applications play key roles when organizations are looking for ways to increase revenue and improve ROI.

Alvis Business Navigator is a tool to aid the overall development of the whole organization. In addition to the traditional dashboard views for senior executives, Alvis can liberalize or loosen up the entire corporate culture by distributing timely information to users at all levels.

Alvis uses the organization's own email network to distribute to all users the information they need at the appointed time and in the agreed format.

Alvis reports intelligently. Users can receive reports either at regular intervals or, where appropriate, only when action is necessary. Alvis threshold condition reporting can compare actual results to values previously specified by the user, and then send the report only when the thresholds have been exceeded.

Alvis is a cost effective Software as a Service (SaaS)  based reporting solution that is becoming ever more popular amongst organizations of all sizes. Alvis utilizes the successful InfoManager Software Suite, which has been developed in cooperation with customers for more than 20 years.

InfoManager WebAdviser is a comprehensive reporting tool that works in a browser, meaning that users can access the reporting environment through any Internet connection.

Summary
A good reporting solution that integrates with Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes mail in a simple but effective way to improve the distribution of your information. The InfoManager  based Alvis service includes the facility of intelligent information distribution by means of email, which is implemented according to the wishes of the users and the organization.

InfoManager Messenger is an effective module of WebAdviser, which offers the following functions:

1. Send immediately The user can send the report whilst still viewing it, and optionally request clarification of the figures in the report from the recipient. This facilitates quick communication in cases where more information is required.

2. Scheduled reports- The user can set up subscriptions to individual reports, which are sent to specific users- e.g., each morning, once a month or on the first or last day of the month. In this way persons in charge can regularly send information to those who need it.

3. Scheduled reports with conditions- The user can attach to a scheduled report a series of threshold values, which is called a trigger. Each trigger automatically compares the pre-defined threshold values to the values in particular cells or columns of a specific report. The report is emailed only if all the threshold value conditions are met. In this way the recipient only gets the report when it is necessary, and unnecessary email is avoided.

4. Active / passive subscriptions- Each subscription has the status active or passive. Active subscriptions are sent according to the conditions set by their triggers, and passive subscriptions are suspended. The subscription status can be used to regulate the sending of seasonal reports by setting their status to passive during the times they are not needed. In this manner reports can be withheld without actually deleting the subscription, which in turn means that again only useful information is sent.

5. Attaching several reports to the same email- the user can attach several reports and dashboards to the same subscription, so that they are all sent as attachments to the same email. This reduces the number of messages at the receiver end and groups the information that they get.

6. Send options for reports- the users can get their reports in three basic formats- as URL links to a WebAdviser server, which require users to sign on, as a picture in the body of the email or as InfoManager attachments (graphic, CSV file, PDF file). All of these formats can be used simultaneously in the same message. These options ensure that each user gets information in the appropriate format.

7. Security- each users own security profile is always in force when they are signed on to the system, but Messenger also allows a user to create subscriptions for other users. In this case, the receiving users see only information allowed by their InfoManager profile.
